I called the Kenosha post office yesterday to ask about my camera. The person I talked to looked up the tracking information on the package and told me what I already knew; it shows as picked up in Florida on the seventh and has no information since then. She did tell me that it was sent with the signature confirmation option. I hadn't been aware of that, but I'm fine with it. That will make sure that it doesn't disappear from my porch at least. If it ever arrives there to begin with.

She said she'd look into it and I should call back tomorrow. I did that a little while ago. Still no further information. She advised me that a trace can be sent out after ten days from the sending date, but the sender has to do that. So, I emailed the shipper and asked him to contact his post office and initiate a trace. I know it hasn't quite been ten days yet, but I want to make sure he's aware that there's a problem and is doing something about it. Besides, maybe if he calls the post office, someone there can look around and find it sitting under a stack of mail cartons or something.

I've never really had to worry about getting payment against insurance on a package before. I hope it doesn't come to that. And I hope I'm going to have a camera for my trip on Memorial Day weekend. I've been looking forward to shooting the Forevertron for months now and I'll be really unhappy if I can't.
