Jun. 16th, 2007 09:50 pmPutting aside the worries du jour for the moment, here's a geek question.
I have a couple of Contivity Extranet switches that followed me home from work. (See, I think one of the major reasons that I haven't seriously started looking for a new job is all the tech that follows me home. There actually are a few advantages to working for a company as disorganized as mine.) I'm kind of interested in using them to set up a permanent site-to-site tunnel between my house and either
posicat's place or my parents house. I managed to dig up the manual on Nortel's site, but it looks like there are couple of things I'm missing; namely, the accompanying CD-ROM, recovery diskette, and IP address configuration utility diskette.
The Nortel web page for software downloads for the device says "There is currently no content available online for this product which you are entitled to download." So this leads to a couple of questions. First, is there actually software there that I'm not authorized to get to? Second, if so, how do I become authorized. Or, failing that, where else can I get it? Does anyone reading have the ability to access it themselves?
Just thought I'd throw a line out to my fellow geeks who, for what ever reason, keep reading my ramblings.
