stormdogI think I kind of want to be a technical writer. I like working help desk, but It's not what I want to do forever. I've thought of getting Cisco certifications and doing WAN networking, or taking database classes and being a DBA. Those are possibilities too. I just don't know. I want to get a degreee, but Andrea needs to go to school first. Maybe after she's done, I can go to school and get an English degree. Maybe I could get Cisco certs too. I don't know. *woofs* I guess I'm starting to think about this sort of thing because I feel like the house is finally starting to get under control. English seems to make the most sense to me. I think it's what I have the most aptitude in. I was just working with my manager on designing the new version of the form and instructional pages that our contractors and temps have to fill out and sign and I find that sort of thing really satisfying. Much more satisfying than trying to figure out for the umpteenth time why Joe Salesd00d can't get on our freaking intranet.
There's still a lot of work to do in the house though. Gotta get the porch cleaned up and start using it as a staging area for getting other stuff out of the house. With the downstairs mostly done and the computer room looking rather better, that's my next project, along with running up and down the basement stairs as I keep trying to get caught up with the piles and mounds of clothing on the bedroom floor.

serinthia is doing most of the phone asnwering these days. I love administration. I love fiddling with little bits of data. I love programming macros on my macro pad to automate things like exporting distribution list memberships to excel. I love entering new hire information into accounts and making sure things are up to date. I love going through lists of email groups and tracking down which ones are in use and which ones can get axed. I love creating process documentation for our department. I love being a check point for people getting into our system and telling people that, until everything is in order, accounts can't be created. That's all great. People, on the other hand, I'm sick of. For what that's worth.
