stormdogJust got back from DDR with my brother and Lara...
It was actually a strange experience. I love DDR. I was looking forward to going and playing, even with the difficutly of working to satisfy both my wish to not have to worry about time and Jim's desire to be home by 5. That was worked out though, and we all found ourselves, after a stop at Value Village where Lara found a hardly used pair of 8 eye Italian leather boots for 7 bucks, at Gurnee Mills.
I played two sets with my brother and it left me rather frustrated. I am nowhere near as proficient at that game as I used to be, since my pads are dead and I can't practice at home. Having spent my money this month on the cell phone (the rebate won't come in for a month or so in all likelihood), I can't afford to get more pads either. I have better things to do with money at this point than DDR stuff anyway. It's just a little frustrating.
Then, as we were leaving the arcade, some of Jim's friends dropped in. I'm not sure I've ever gone anywhere with my brother without bumping into one or two of his friends. lookofevil), but at the same time, it left me a little depressed. My friends all live too far away. Going out with my brother is fine once in a while, but much as I get along with he and Lara, we really don't share a lot of interests. Thrifting was at least half the reason I was going, even though I never quite found the Goodwill I was looking for. Jim didn't want to spend time trying to find it. I almost had to drag him to Value Village with me, whereas I would have been happy doing that and not even getting to DDR. Especially the way I felt today. *sigh* I want to have people I know nearby who I can go out shopping with or drop by and have food with... people to be with without having to drive an hour to get there.
And I really miss my beloved.

I need to clean up now, and work on my computer. It's being odd and probably needs a windows reinstall. At least I'll have something to do...
