I rock! The first of the HP Vectra PII 333's is up and running with Windows 2000. I never did get '98 to work on the thing, but that's ok, 2000 will do the job. I'm very pleased to be able to finally be able to give my mother a decent computer that she can have all to herself, and I'm also very pleased to have figured the thing out. Making computers behave is very satisfying.
That's what I've been doing since getting home at about 9:30. The Dwarf and I stopped at Super China Buffet on the way home as a gorgeous storm rolled by overhead. As I was driving home from the restaurant, I marvelled at the two-tone sky. The heavens ahead of me roiled dark and ominous, occasional jags of lightning rending the clouds, while behind me, the sky farthest from the advancing front glowed an almost pearlescent shade of turquoise that nearly took my breath away. *sighhhh* I love storms... And the rain! I was in such good spirits driving home, with a weekend awaiting me and the wonder of nature's power tempestuously surrounding me.... I was a happy, and slightly wet, dog as I rolled the window down to let the rain touch me.
Seems I'm not going to be able to make the picnic that
butterscotchvix is hosting Saturday at Starved Rock. It would have been fun to meet all the new people, but it seems I'm giving
foreignlegiona ride out to Madison to help he and
saagaadaa clean out a friend's storage locker. No one knows what all is in it. Don't you love surprises? *grin* Sorry I can't make it though, Butterscotch. It would have been fun. I was even thinking about bringing some of my juggling stuff...
Anway, I'll probably be up for a good long time tonight, working on systems and doing all the other things I never seem to have time for on the weekdays. Free time is a very good thing.
