moiracoon and I went out to the farmer's market where my parents are selling their organic produce. They'd already sold out of everything, but Uncle Muck, my godfather, is in from Minnesota and was making balloon animals out of the booth too, and that seemed to be going really well. (My dad has him in town to do work on his set for Willy Wonka Jr. at the high school, which is going to have the chocolate factory done entirely with balloons. Should be awesome, and I'm sure I'll have pictures to post!) I forgot to bring my camera to take pictures of my parents at the booth, but maybe I'll get some next weekend.
Then the two of us dropped off the rent check, got some cheese and brats for dinner tonight, and came back home where I'm catching up on bills and having some of her fantastic homemade piergoies.
Speaking of bills, please be aware:
I have just cancelled our VOIP phone service! moiracoon and I are using our cell phones exclusively at this point!
If you have our home number and not our cell numbers, please let me know and I'll give you new contact info.
I also am going to start seriously looking into other internet service providers. I've been saying that for a while, but I know I can find cheaper than the $40 a month I'm paying for cable service when I really don't need speed for much of anything anymore. I don't do any online gaming, and my server is very low volume (though my email bogs down whenever someone sends me an attachment!), so it's time to downgrade to something cheaper.
I've posted my big list o' tech to Freecycle, but it hasn't been approved by the mods yet apparently. That's all going away by the end of next week so I have more shelf space in the basement.
I'm looking forward to a day spent working on more things at the house, and then going to the drive-in with my mate since I have yet to see the new Indy movie.
She and I drove up to Milwaukee to seemocha_mephooki on Friday night. We had some good Mexican food and good conversation; I'm glad to have taken the trip up there, even if I had crashed firmly into dreamland by the end of the night and the raccoon had to drive home.
Speaking of driving, the inflation of my tires up to 45psi before my last fill up seems to have made a difference, at least in rough estimates from watching my fuel gauge. I'm also pretty sure that, from the corner of Sheridan and 75th, I can coast all the way to my driveway and, if no other car is in it, stay in neutral and use the slant of the driveway to roll back onto the street and park facing north toward 75th. I shouldn't ever have to burn gas reversing out of the driveway in the morning. I'll have to experiment further.
