I have finished captioning the pictures from the trip that [livejournal.com profile] moiracoon, [livejournal.com profile] posicat, and myself all took to the infamous House on the Rock in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Is it a museum full of antiquities? Is it a huge and elaborate fake? Is it a portal to hell? Have a look and decide for yourself.

(By the way, while looking through Google for info while I captioned things, I found this really nifty page with lots of info on the music of The House on the Rock! http://www.folklib.net/index/discog/labels/house_rock_tour.shtml

I got, while not lost, perhaps confused, on the way home from visiting [livejournal.com profile] rileybear67 Thursday night. I couldn't figure out the highways and ended up taking route 45 all the way north to Mundelein. I hate driving where there are complex systems or roads. I'd much rather be on that nice straight shot up to the UP. I got home about 12:30 or 1, and then overslept by nearly two hours on Friday morning. I was going to work late on Friday to make up for it, but my manager told me I could go ahead and make it up over lunches. I'm going to do some work this weekend too, just getting caught up on stuff on emails I need to send. Work has been crazy lately. I typically run with twenty to thirty tickets in my queue, and I have over a hundred right now.

It was a lovely visit though. Along with food from The Doggie Diner (I thought she was making fun of me when she suggested that in email!), I got to see the awesome Halloween decorations that D put up around their house. I love the glowing eyes in the tree and the spider over the front door! And on top of that, D gave me a surprise birthday present; his copy of Railroad Tycoon 2 for the Playstation. I showed him my pictures from Green Bay, and we were talking about trains, and he just gave me the game as I was leaving. How cool!

And I got a present from the lovely and thoughtful Rileybear as well; the Back to the Future trilogy! *squeeeees*

I have to write too about Moira's and my attempt to go to the Rocky Horror show in Lake Geneva on Friday and of wandering about downtown with her, but that will be another entry after I look at my pictures. But until then, thank you Moira, for a really wonderful night. *kisses*
