I found that it will cost me eighty dollars to list my truck on E-bay. I decided that that really wasn't worth it and looked into placing a classified ad instead in the local paper. I wrote up a short ad and looked into pricing. As it turns out, a 7 day ad runs right around 80 dollars. Bleah. I'm just going to put the stupid thing on E-bay after all. More people will have the opportunity to see it, I'll have a nice big full color ad with pictures instead of 7 lines of text that I would have in the paper, and hopefully I'll make up the listing price and have exta money after. I'm frustrated about it either way. I only paid 200 for the thing and I'd be happy to let it go for about the same, or even less, but having to fork over 80 bucks just for the privelidge of trying to sell it with no gaurantee on a return. *sigh* I guess I'll just start the bidding at $75 so I can at least basically cover my expenses, and just hope it goes well. My alternative is to end up paying to have it hauled away to a junkyard, which I'd really rather not do for several reasons.
The show went decently today and yesterday. I got it up and running and then just filed miniatures 'till I ran out of them. During the show today I was playing around with the computer I'd donated and found some baseball game called Backyard Baseball. It was more interesting than most sports games I've tried. I actually got through most of 5 innings before getting bored. I kinda liked the 'gang of kids on summer vacation playing ball in improvised places' idea. There have been a couple other sports games I've liked. I remember having fun with Blades of Steel back on the 8-bit Nintendo, but I was more interested in trying to start fights between the teams than actually playing hockey. There was also Base Wars, which was regular baseball except the players were all cyborgs who had tank treads bodies and pitching cannons and chainswords and the like. Nothing like blowing the heck out of your brother's cyborg with a chaingun in a fight over whether you got to steal second base. Heh.
Went over to Bob's house for the game Saturday. I understood they were going to be playing board games since several players were absent. Instead, when I arrived late, I found everyone watching animè. I found that a little frustrating too, for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me. I guess I just thought it's be fun to have some time playing a board game and talking. *shrug* So instead I sat with Bob's son and played around on whatsbetter.com with he and my brother Tim until
wooisme called. I laid down on the side porch of the house, staring up at the stars while the gentle breeze washed over me and just talked to her until everyone else had left and even later. I miss her...
Knowing that I have to go back to work tomorrow is not making me happy. I didn't have much time this weekend.
