I've been away from here for a bit too long again. I'm just always moving! Life will be a little more stable, at least in regard to location, once I'm attending school. Which starts on the seventh! Woosh!
Danaeris was over this weekend, which is always a treat. Today we went to Bristol Ren Faire. Among other things, we sat down together to have our hair braided. The braider was a neat guy who had just earned his Ph.D in Shakespeare studies and is hoping to get a position teaching in Cairo. Cool!
Having my hair braided, or brushed, or played with at all, always feels wonderful and I was feeling content and relaxed after he finished. Then I got to sit and watch him create the most amazing crown of tresses on top of my sweetie's head. She looked beautiful once he was done practicing his skills. I hope I can get some pictures of the way she looked. She's going to have her housemates take a few pictures tonight I think.
As for me, I'm hoping to get better pictures of my hair tomorrow, but here's one my dad got at my request tonight. I so rarely get to do really elaborate, pretty things with my hair. Having pictures of the results to keep make the experience feel even more worth it to me.

I bought a barrette to use in my hair when it's not in braids, chatted with Ginger over at Faire Paire, whose wonderful velvet tights and garments I always talk up after working for her for a summer. (Danae bought some of her tights too!) I watched Moonie like I always do; I love his show.
Finally it was time to go, and we parted. She went to Aurora. I elected to stay in Kenosha to try and get some school stuff done in the next couple days. I need to buy books (there were some shipping SNAFUs with the ones I ordered from Amazon) and a parking pass and see if there are any orientation-type events I might want to attend. I also want to do some more organizing and cleaing of my room. It seems that the former student of my dad's who's going to be helping build the wall might come talk to me on Tuesday too, so that's good.
serinthia is also going to come visit on Tuesday to watch some more Clone Wars or something with me for a while. Then, in the evening, I leave for Chicago to visit
lisagems to attend her apartment cooling and help her with some moving. Then Thursday, I leave for Aurora to spend the weekend with Danae again. Sushi happy hour in Aurora!!
------------
But my days leading up to the weekend haven't been empty either. Let's see; I got a copy of my birth certificate so I can get a passport so I can visit Canada (and Danae's parents) over Christmas break this year. I visited my sweetie Lisa in Chicago and had a fun drive to a Borders out along I-88 with her. Thursday I visited Mitsuwa,
saagaadaa, another Borders, Ikea, Freegeek Chicago, my friend Rachel (to drop off her Gamecube controller that I still had), and then had fondue with my sweetie Danae in Chicago before driving up to Kenosha with her! I've been a busy dog, as usual.
And now, I think I'm going to do some more organizing here. And maybe some picture editing. I have so many pictures from the UP I want to post, let alone ones from Fermilab, GenCon, and other places.
