stormdogOne of my classes was cancelled today. I have no idea what time the one after it starts. I had to look it up on my schedule in the university's online system. I just know what order they're in and where to go!
There were a couple of things I was going to write about here but they've escaped me. Maybe they were running away from the religion post. I should note that King Louis XIV, at least as portrayed by Hyacinthe Regaud, had some quite fine legs indeed. And so help me, I briefly wondered if I could get away with wearing that kind of wig since my hair won't get as long as I want it to. Brief and idle thoughts, but there.
I went to the library here at school to ask about the status of an interlibrary loan request I'd made last month but hadn't followed up on. Seems the other school had indicated it was sent, but it never arrived. They're going to check up on it. I also came equipped today with a scanning want that my mother bought so I could make copies of some articles that are on site, but not available online yet because of a journal embargo period. So I found the location of the journal on the shelves, but the one I sought was nowhere to be found. I looked it up in the catalog, and of course, it was off at a bindery. The woman who does the loans said I should just do a loan request and she'll make sure that it comes in even though technically the library has it already. The library staff here rule! I actually didn't have to do that though; I started looking around on one of the computers in the library and managed to find full text of the journal volume in question. I guess I could get it from a school computer, though not from one outside. Either way, I have the PDFs on my thumb drive now.
I also need to do more work on my paper and presentation for my Southeast Asia class. I was working on the Powerpoint outline over Spring Break because I could have been asked to present anywhere from two days ago to near the end of April. I got an email that Friday with my date (near the end of April), so I promptly stopped working on it and enjoyed the rest of my time off. Now, I think what I'm going to do is write the paper first, and then base the Powerpoint on my paper. Since they're both on the same article, having the paper done will give me a better sense of just what I want to talk about in the Powerpoint.
