About a mile and a quarter into my ride to school, my back tire popped with a sound like I'd run over one of those little exploding popper toys, louder. 100 PSI makes a good pop! Luckily, I was a short enough distance into my trip that I could walk back to my car and still get to work at the college on time. Tomorrow, I'll look into what caused the flat and see if I can figure out how to install an inner tube.

This past weekend was happily social. I saw [livejournal.com profile] lisagems and [livejournal.com profile] wendyszki on Thursday as they frantically prepared to run their department at Worldcon. On Friday, Lisa and I took a wandering drive (via an I-Go car) as a little break, and I helped clean her apartment a little bit while she concentrated on emails and communication.

Friday evening through late Sunday was spent with Danae visiting all sorts of people! On Saturday we saw boardgaming friends of mine in Ukranian Village and played a bunch of Cards Against Humanity and Dominion. We were also introduced to new Anime whose name I forget. It was good; Danae liked it even more than I did, and I enjoyed it.

Sunday we were down on the south side for a corset fitting and to meet a potential roommate, checking for possible cat allergy issues. (Stella the long-haired cat seems to have passed the test.) After that, we visited Anthony and his family for more games Cards Against Humanity is getting a lot of play lately! We also got through a round of Seven Wonders. And apart from that, we were treated to a wonderful dinner of Tandoori chicken, stuffed baked potatoes, and salad, all made by our host. I was really wowed, and grateful!

Finally, we left Lombard around 10 and Danae dropped me off at my car at Lisa's about 11. I visited with her before she went to bed and finally got home to Kenosha around 12:30.

Somewhere along the line, I misplaced both my FitBit pedometer and my sunglasses. I'm very much hoping they both show up. The FitBit has encouraged me to be a lot more mindful of my activity and diet and has made a distinct difference in the weight loss I want to achieve. They're probably at Danae's place, or in her car.

Finally, on Monday, I gave my dad a ride to a doctor appointment and to do some shopping. His foot seems to be improving. Though I still worry about him a bit, I'm feeling better and hoping he'll be up to more activity. I want to take another trip with him somewhere. Maybe the railroad museum up by the Dells!

I forgot to take my lunch and my reading material out of the trunk bag on my bike. But I do have a new thrift store find that was still in my car to start on; Islam: A Short History by Karen Armstrong.
