stormdogThe processing of mail once it gets to my house is a little bit sketchy. That's why I only just now opened a birthday card (mine is in November) from my grandmother. She is sweet and wonderful and sends my brothers and cousins and I cards for tons of occasions, which often include a little cash.
I just called her to thank her for both the birthday card and again for the one she gave me in person at Christmas. We got to chat about my upcoming classes and my photo trip to Gary and how my cousins are doing with their schooling and other random family things. Her birthday card included a note saying how much she likes my photos and that I have an eye for beautiful and interesting things and it gave me a really big smile to read it. I told her that the money she's sent me is going toward my fund to repair my EF-S 10-22 so I can get even better photos.
When I was in high school, I was pretty terrified of using a telephone. Working tech support for a few years helped get me over that, and my overall transformation from being shy and scared of people to being outgoing and gregarious has changed my relation with the telephone to just another communication device. I'm going to use it to talk to Grandma more often.
