stormdogSo Exxon is deeply problematic according to HRC. However, this brings me back a ways to when people were talking about boycotting Citgo due to environmental issues, as well as other instances of oil companies doing problematic things.
It would be nice to be able to boycott a specific oil company if we wanted to. However, my understanding from what I was reading during the Citgo kerfluffle is that the name on the station is actually not very closely connected to which company is profiting from sales of gasoline at that station.
Has anyone written anything in depth that follows the money from point-of-sale gas pumps up to big oil? I'd be really interested in reading it to have a better understanding of the economics.
