I'm probably going to be at school much earlier than I have been in the past considering my new place of gainful employment is approximately 5 minutes away from New Horizons. This is not a bad thing at all. Though I'll miss the hour or so I used to have at home between work and class, I won't miss having to get up at 5 in the morning an spending an extra hour on the road each day.
What is Stormdog's new job? Do inquiring minds want to know? It's not as interesting as I thought it might be, but it's definately a step up from my last job. My work day is going to consist of reprogramming cell phones. I take a unit, plug into a computer (via USB), and run functions on them. One of them is called 'refurbish', and one of them writes a new 'prl'. I'm not entirely sure what those are, but I plan to try to figure it out by checking around on the 'net.
It can get boring after a while, but I get to sit down all day and I am free to bring in a walkman, cd player, what have you and listen to music while I work. Also, if the orientation paper is to be belived, I have a chance of moving up to other, more complex and interesting jobs. Could be cool. Plus the $9 an hour is up 60ยข/hr from my last place and will net me nearly $100 a month more before taxes. I can be bored for that, especially considering I won't be standing up for hours, breathing in metal shavings, stressing my wrist, and hurting my back. I'm fairly content. Especially considering that interaction with other human beings is pretty minimal. I just sit at my desk and service phones.
I am signed up to take my A+ core hardware exam this Saturday at 9 in the morning. Wish me luck. School now. 'Till later.
