My bike computer tracks the distance I travel. My trip to school is 8 miles one way. I took a ride today with someone from the college bike club over lunch. When I got back, I saw I'd gone 10 miles and I assumed that I'd forgotten to reset it and had ridden 2 with him. As I entered my route on Endomondo (a site that some of the folks at Parkside use to track their distances), I found that I really had gone 10 miles.
How perception shifts when you're doing something with company! And no wonder I'm more tired than usual after my ride home!
