Crazy busy day today.
I scheduled my A+ OS exam for 1:00 on Sunday in Livonia or thereabouts. I'm going to have to cram studying into all my spare time over the next few days, but I'm not worried quite so much about trying to study for two tests at once. I'll get A+ out of the way right after I finish my Net+ classes, then, on the off week, I can study for the Net+ exam, although it seems two evenings will be devoted to my resume writing and interview prep classes, assuming I finally deliver the last six thousand dollars of my tuition by then. (I picked up the check this weekend from the Evil Bob to whom I am deeply, deeply grateful for financing my education.)
Picked up my car from the shop yesterday after work. Andrea, even though she was home sick, roused herself out of bed to come and pick me up and bring me over there, and even stop for me to get food. She is entirely wonderful. The car was fixed for only a little over $200 (the front rotors were not, as I feard, in need of replacement). I paid with my credit card which, since I have almost a thousand dollars in uncashed pay checks that I haven't had time to deposit yet, left me with perhaps a little over a hundred. This made me kind of nervous since school and work have kept me so crazily busy that I also haven't had time to balance my account figures. Andrea saved the day again by depositing my checks for me today (except for the one I can't find...) during lunch. Yay raccoon girl!
Tonight she's even buying groceries for me so I can bring food to work for lunch and to school for dinner. Much better than eating tortillas all day like yesterday, or buying pizza after work after eating nothing all day today 'cause I forgot the tortillas. Argh. Hungry doggy!
But, since I didn't have food to eat at lunch, I instead had time to air up my spare tire and replace the one that Vance told me was on the edge of failure. I read the fifth Harry Potter book (bought this weeked) while I waited for my tire to fill, then swapped it on. It was flat again when I left work. *sighs* I'll probably have to put air in it again when I leave school. I'll have to try to get another tire next week; I have no time until then. Should I put my old one back on? The sidewall threads are showing through and I don't know if it's safe, but I don't know if I can refill my tire every morning, afternoon and night either...
I'll be studying like crazy next week for my Network + exam too. There's a great deal to routing technology that I'm not quite clear on. I think I need a more graphical representation of how it all works than my book has. Any suggestions?
The weekend. The weekend was good. Andrea and I drove all the way around Lake Michigan to get to my parent's house. We saw the Mackinac Bridge and lots of pretty scenery on Friday. Saturday was spent going thrifting and to a flea market (Seven Mile Fair where I bought Tenchu: Stealth Assasins so I could kill people with my brother. "Black ops! No witnesses!") and to Gurnee Mills. Sunday I spent generally hanging about with my family until we went out to the Rhode to see the fireworks.
I saw several people from the theatre that I've really missed and was very glad to see them doing well. Judy Rossow showed me pictures and talked about the progress being made on the Pollard Gallery and I was so happy that I found myself in tears. I worry a lot about the theatre, but it seems they're doing well. Judy told me that I was a huge part of Lakeside and the Rhode and that I always will be and gave me a hug and I was just in tears... It will always be a big part of my life. Maybe someday I'll have a chance to work there again.
Some of the weekend was kind of weird. There was some stress and bristlyness. Andrea has a lot of stuff to worry about and I suppose I do too. We talked about it. It's better. I worry about she and me sometimes. (yes I know that's wrong; I just wanted to throw a rhyme in there *grin*) I also love her. I love her very, very much. I am so looking forward to Silverleaf with her on Saturday. Unfortunately, we cut Sunday (and the accompanying night in a motel room with a hot tub) from the itinerary since I'll be taking my test then. I wonder if we can still get mini-golf in garb in there...
What else to say? The fifth Harry Potter book is surprisingly dark and very, very good so far (about half way through I think. I really ought to stop reading it and start studying... Shouldn't have bought something so addictive I suppose). Go read it if you haven't. Read the rest of them too. You can tell the Sorcerer's Stone was her first as she took what I feel were some shortcuts on things, but they are all really good and she just keeps getting better. I hope she writes a lot more. I hope she writes some adult stuff too. She's already starting to push that line a little bit in Order of the Phoenix I think. (I should note that I think that can be a really good thing sometimes.)
Back to school now. Hugs to my friends and readers!
