So many things to do, so little time.

One class period a week in my anthro theory class, we bring in some index cards with comments and questions on the week's readings. I've managed to stick to the cards so far this semester, but despite previous joking about my printed pages, I had to fire up Word again. I had too much to say about Durkheim and Weber. Maybe I should just write it up on our class blog. I probably will anyway.

I'm leaving in two weeks and three days. Before then, I need to read more about the Zapatistas and watch a video that the professor has sitting in the mailbox on her office door. I'll probably find time for that this week. I have a ton of newspaper on microfilm to go digging through at the public library for my history class and synergistically connected research project. That'll take up some of my weekend. I have to read the next two parts of William Cronon's "Nature's Metropolis." That's not too bad; I love the book. I really want to start going through the tutorial for ArcGIS so the program doesn't make me crazed. I was going to do that tonight, but am lacking time.

Where does all the time go? I feel like this evening was gone in a flash.

I got my itinerary for the Chiapas trip today. I leave O'Hare at 8:15 AM, March 20th for a 1686 mile, four hour and twenty-three minute flight to Mexico City on a Boeing 737-700. From there, I get on an Embraer RJ170 for a 415 mile, 1 hour and twenty-eight minute flight to Villahermosa. My homeward path starts in Tuxtla GutiƩrrez, where I'm flying on an Embraer RJ145 (I've never heard of this aircraft before, but I'm no plane aficionado) back to Mexico City, and thence to O'Hare, where I arrive at 11 at night on the 31st after a four hour and seven minute flight on another 737-700.

I'm a little nervous about flying. I am aware that this is entirely irrational. I have not been on a plane since...I don't even know. I think it was when I flew to Minneapolis for the second Mystery Science Theatre 3000 convention. (The first con I went to all by myself! I don't think I talked to a single person, except for one occasion where someone tried to start a casual conversation and I had no idea what to say.) I have a lot of stuff I want to try to get a handle on before I leave, since I won't have Spring break to work on school things.

On Wednesday this week, I'm going to the municipal building between classes to get a copy of a document and see an exhibit about Pike Creek that someone from public works was nice enough to tell me about. I'm debating taking the car that day so I don't have to bike 2/3s of the way home and back to school *and* try to do what I need to do in the two hours between classes.
