Mar. 15th, 2014 01:41 pmI haven't had much time for social networking this week. And what a week it seems to have been for myself and people I care about. On Wednesday there was my trip to urgent care. When I made it to Evanston yesterday, I ended up picking Danae up from the hospital. (She's fine and at home, though sore from a fall.) And Lisa has had a week of commutes from hell and sleep deprivation. The latter of which Danae has been dealing with due to school. I think we're all going to do very little this weekend.
Danae and I slept in 'till quarter past noon, then had breakfast. She's napping while I catch up on the internet. After that, I'm going to seriously work at a packing list for Mexico and figure out when I need to buy on my way home on Sunday. I have some reading for school to do, and some studying for a theory exam on Tuesday. I have little index cards made up for various theorists and their positions and thoughts.
I'm leaving for Mexico on Thursday morning. I guess that's most of what's in my thoughts! I'm going to be totally out of touch through the whole thing. I'm not bringing my cell phone or laptop, since there'd be little opportunity to use them and I don't want to have the weight in my backpack. What will I be bringing, other than camera gear? Well, I'll have to figure that out.
Speaking of camera gear, I visited
posicat on Thursday evening. He recently lost a cat who'd been in his life for a very long time, and who I was pretty fond of myself. Since Recall's favorite foods were chicken and mint, I bought one of the mint chocolate bars I'm selling for him, and I took him out for Chinese buffet where we had General Tso's Chicken. *grins* And we talked about Recall, and kitties, and stuff in general. It was a good evening, and I miss seeing my friend.
We talked about camera gear too, of course, since we're both photo junkies. He's lending me two CF cards for my trip, a mini-tripod, and even a 28-80 ultrasonic lens if I choose to take it. I'm really grateful! I've never filled up my 8GB card before, but I've never been on this long a trip before, and I'd be really unhappy if I ran out of room! I'll also be unhappy if I run out of power; I hope what I've got is enough.
