stormdogI don't like this 'editing photos on a deadline' thing. It's way too much like, I dunno, a *job* or something. But I got some shots to the profesor who organized the Chiapas trip so that some can be made into posters to advertise the group's presentation (she needs those by Friday), and others can be made into *part* of the presentation. Some I edited, especially the mural sections that might become posters. Others I just tossed into Dropbox. The criteria was different than I'll use for ones I want on Flickr, but there's a little bit of overlap.
Speaking of schedules, my Anthropological Theory paper feels so big and intimidating. Theory requires a lot of high-order analysis and synthesis, and I've found it more difficult than I expected to really understand everybody's viewpoints on reality and keep them straight. Regardless, it's due May 2nd, and I need to get on it ASAP.
I made more progress on my history paper this week. I found a few good pieces in the Southport Telegraph from the 1840s, and some possibly relevant stuff around 1895. There were really *dumb* jokes in the Telegraph back in 1840. To wit, a farmer who was shortly to be married went home to see his mother. His mother commented on him looking pretty slim and having lost weight. Yes, he said, and next time you see me you'll see my rib as well!
Get it? It took me a while to make the religious connection....
I have a few rough pages of that written up, along with an outline. The Chiapas reflection paper is in a similar state, but I still haven't started on the GIS project I need to do. I'm seeing the end of the semester coming quickly and it's stressing me out. I'm glad I'm at home this weekend. Now I need to make sure I stay focused and work.
