I'm finishing up some details on my Pike Creek paper. This has been one of the most enjoyable projects I've worked on so far! In the archives today, I found a document that I'd scanned and needed to cite, but either forgot to write the collection number down or lost my note. Serendipitously, I found not only the 1895 board of health report I was looking for, but a 1907 report by a Chicago civil engineer on how to address pollution problems in the harbor and creek. That's getting cited too.

I'm excited about possibly expanding on this further over the summer, both with the oral history work I'll be doing with my advisor, and with further investigation into historic primary sources for more details about the fill.

And finally, as I read my quotation of a Kenosha Common Council resolution that contains the word "advantabeous", I think I would really amuse myself if I had this shirt to wear.
