Pike Creek Work Continues

By the time I got home from doing fieldwork with my advisor, made dinner, considered cell phone plans and ordered a phone, cleaned the kitchen, took a shower, made lunches for tomorrow, and brushed my teeth, I have no more time in the day to do anything like writing field notes or sortding my photos. Being a grown-up is hard.
We found some more really interesting Pike Creek remnants. We met a couple who live next to the creek with an interesting story. We stopped because there was an odd sign up in front of a portion of the creekbed, just off the road. It turned out to have a street address on top, and an official-looking letter with something about permission to put a mailbox there despite the presence of a navicable (sic) waterway. We were looking around when the man of the aforementioned house came down to talk to us. It appears that some guy has set up basically a squat on that parcel of land, and likely created the letter and address sign himself. The couple in the house next door were concerned by his presence as he seems like he might be a little unstable. Oddly enough, they also knew that the little stream next to their house was Pike Creek and wanted to talk about it! We did a lot more exploring and finding too. I'll write it all up when I get a chance to go through photos.
'Till then, it's off to bed. We did tons of walking and bushwhacking and I'm worn out!
