My mother sent me this article about a young agender person in western Michigan, getting ready to go off to college. It's really moving; I felt a lot of strong emotions as I read it.
When No Gender Fits: A Quest to be Seen as Just a Person.
I started to talk to my partner Danae about it, but I realized that because it can be difficult for me to readily express strong complex emotions, I was talking about it in rational and analytical terms, and not getting at why the article touched me so deeply. So I'm going to think about it a bit more.
But I thought I'd share it here too.
