Clothes for the Visit Weekend

I have very few clothing options that are not jeans and t-shirts. I want to look a little nicer for this, even though I have a feeling that not everybody is going to dress up.
I have blue chinos that I really like. I think men's wardrobes need more color. However, they are a very bright blue that don't really go with any of my three or four button-down shirts. I picked them up at a thrift store new with tags, thinking I'd pick up shirts to go with them in the future. The future, or at least that one, hasn't yet arrived.
Non-casual shirts are an area of fashion I have not learned much about, though it's on my list. Different kinds of fits, different kinds of collars, different ways of tucking the ends or layering vests and shirts and things; it's complicated.
I have a green stripey shirt that I kind of like, but I'm increasingly aware that the collar is kind of odd; maybe quite dated. I'll probably bring a deep purple shirt, a pale blue shirt, and my khaki chinos.
Packing up!
...I don't know how to fold these things....
