I assembled both bookcases last night! I loaded up the first one with a bunch of my for-sale books and cleared off an entire library truck. I loaded up the second to about 80% full and then it collapsed. Mostly onto itself, though I ended up with a scraped leg. Big medical books are heavier than the typical load for those shelves I suppose. Now I feel like if I breath on the first one it'll collapse, but it seems to be fine so far.

I was worn out after biking yesterday, but I did a bunch of work on shelves and moving books anyway. Even if the expected weather was more cooperative today, I'd have taken transit again.

I keep looking at free listing on various places for bookshelves to hold the ones in my spare room that I have listed on Amazon. I seem them scattered around the suburbs frequently. However, while having more shelf space would be convenient, but not convenient enough for me to want to drive more than ten or fifteen minutes to get them. Eventually I'm sure there'll be an offer in Evanston. Or I'll find some in the alley behind my building again where the residents of the huge condo building behind ours leave their furniture they're throwing out. I got a great nice Ikea bookcase for our bedroom that way.

Work has shortened hours today through Thursday due to the weather. We open at 9 instead of 7 and close at five instead of ten. I'll probably come in at seven regardless; I don't want to have to flex my time or use PTO, and I like getting home when I normally do instead of too late to do anything useful.

It's a strange world in which if someone wants to give me $10 plus shipping for a book I could lose money on it, but someone can make money selling me an eighty-eight cent dog clicker with free shipping.

I'm selling a bike! If you know anyone who might be interested, please feel free to pass the info along. (I'm also selling a hydraulic trainer for $80.)

It's a vintage 1980s Japanese road bike. Make and model are Takara Advantage. It's got a lugged 4130 cro-moly steel frame. It has 27" steel wheels. They will take 700c tubes but not tires; you could also replace them with modern 700c wheels. It's a 12-speed geartrain with stem-mounted friction shifters. I adjusted and lubed them, but they might need new cables sooner or later. It probably needs new brake pads too; the ones on it work but aren't very grippy.

It's a really pretty bike. All red and white, with white-wrapped drop bars. It's the prettiest, sportiest bike I've ever owned, and I kind wish I had room to keep it. Let me know if you're interested! I'll get some pictures soon, hopefully this week. I'm going to put it on craigslist soon too. I'm looking for $100 for it.

Thanks!
