Quick update time!
Looks like I'm going to be the only staff in the Libertyville Network Support department for two weeks; my manager's dad died over the weekend and he's going to be out. He was in for half a day finishing up some systems he was building and then he headed out. I'm a little nervous, but it's not like there's no one else around to ask. The guy I've trained with in the Chicago office is only a phone call away and the office right next door to support belongs to another person above me in information services, though she's mainly application oriented. Wish me luck!
As I looked at bills this evening, I became even more grateful to have the job that I do. We aren't in dire straits by any means, but had I not found the employment I have we would be. We're going spend perhaps a month digging out of the accumulated bills of this month and last that didn't get paid while we were moving. Still, it's very good to know that we can afford to start pushing our heads skyward.
What I thought was an evening backyard barbeque that Andrea and I were going to attend this weekend turned out to be rather larger, as I found when Andrea e-mailed me at work about it. We may be gone for the weekend. I'm going to invite my brother and his girlfriend to house sit for us. I think they'll enjoy that.
Speaking of the house, in the spaces of time before and after my mother came over to talk about Ebay with Andrea (which was a really nice time; we don't have enough friends and family over here and I loved spending a couple hours with she and my sweetie), I spent a bunch of time on the basement and, once I had stacked up enough space to clear some floor down there, on the living room. We now have a den that feels cozy, clean, peaceful, and relaxing. It makes me so sillily happy to have things organized and pretty looking; it's a weight off my mind. I'm going to tackle the rest of the house one room at a time until everything that doesn't have a place is in the basement; then we'll go through the boxes and bags down there, one at a time, sorting out our stuff. I can't wait until we have a beautiful eclecting living space, full of candles and curtains and art on the walls... *The puppy daydreams for a few minutes about his plans for he and his mate's den...*
I should go let the dog in and call my parents. ( I love having a doggy again! Whee! *bounce*) 'Till later!
