My new purse is here!

The fabric is a little thinner than my last one and I miss having a handle at the top. Regardless, it makes me happy.

A purse here is something a lot smaller- that's a handbag to me!

Oh, maybe I forgot to write about it here! I just had to replace my ten-year-old one. It's just as well because, while I liked it, it is also one of the few things I have in my daily life that my ex gave me and I'm just as happy to not have that connection.

The new one says 魔法少女. If people ask, I can explain that it refers to a particular kind of trope in anime. If people can read Japanese, they'll know it says "magical girl," which is a well-known category of anime and manga; girls who transform and have magical powers. Sailor Moon is the best-known example.

For me, magical girl doesn't just refer to that; I also like thinking that I'm a little metaphorically magical myself and my gender is part of that. It makes me smile a lot!

I call any bag of holding a purse. I would consider that a purse even though it's also a messenger bag. Anyway, that is adorable.

Maybe handbag would be a better word for it too. I feel a little weird calling it a purse sometimes, like maybe I'm wrong. I have seen some pretty big purses though.
