Big Americans Pizza

I took the "Big Americans" brand supreme pizza out of the freezer and set it on the counter. I unwrapped it.
"Uhh...there's corn on this pizza." I said to Danae.
"Corn is a new world vegetable," she rightly observed. She also noted that this isn't the first pizza she's seen that suggests that folks here have odd ideas about what makes American style pizzas.

Date: 2020-08-02 12:58 pm (UTC)It's interesting what foods advertisers connect to what countries. McKennedy sells maple syrup that is clearly promoted as Canadian. It also has US-style stars and stripes on the label, because McKennedy sells "American" foods. That one's a real head-scratcher... My Canadian partner was amused and horrified.
