Moving Expenses and Taxes

I guess we didn't have enough stuff to deal with because Canada Revenue Service is disputing our moving expenses Miriam claimed on her taxes. Any actual paper receipts we had are gone in the fire, and her address was incorrect with the government because of our temporary housing, so we're like 2/3 through the period we have to respond and only just learned the details of what we're supposed to respond to.

I'm sorry for this adding to your pains. I'd think there are procedures in place at CRA for this sort of thing, but I don't know what they are, or how you'd apply to have them invoked to your defence.

I started looking into this today and I suspect they're challenging the deductions for accommodations on the drive from Ontario to Saskatchewan. The documentation I could find online is a little unclear about the process, and I think we'll need to call and talk to someone.
