Going out with Miriam this morning to see how things are looking at the condo and pick up mail.

After five sessions (I think?) now of laser, my upper lip is still shadowy, but I'm really happy with most of my face. The upper lip is better than when I started, but it's still noticeable and bothers me a lot.

The shape of the glasses is a nice touch. (And some XX women have trouble keeping their upper lip neat.) I do think you should dare to dress a little less conservatively - or make it so conservative it's cosplay :-)

Thanks: Miriam helped me pick the glasses. She has a good eye for that.

I honestly don't really know how to dress at this point, and the whole thing makes me anxious. I have slowly found a few things I like, but I'm also not going to thrift stores right now because of COVID so it makes it hard to try a lot of different things affordably. But I'm working on it!

I don't dress like a woman very often. My everyday clothes are jeans, sweatpants or leggings, with a sweatshirt if it's cold, a t-shirt if it's hot. I always hated the way skirts or dresses felt flapping around my legs - even as a little girl, I'd change into "play clothes" when I got home from school, even though I wasn't physically a tomboy (I didn't play ball games or climb trees - I fixed my bicycle or helpe my dad fix the car or the TV.) My mother was always getting on my case and telling me to "dress like a girl". My father didn't mind at all, but it wasn't a case of him having wanted a son. He just treated me like who I was, and taught me a lot of useful life skills about machinery and tools.

And when my son got married, he wanted me to wear a "mother of the groom" dress, but we compromised on dressy velvet pants and a beaded top. He was really Groomzilla, but his wife was very chill about it. Her sister had gotten married the year before, in a huge expensive elaborate production, and I think my d-i-l just found all that nonsense abhorrent.

I also had a friend who mostly identified as het male, but he enjoyed startling people. He would often ask me where I'd bought some item of clothing -colorful, sequinned, metallic - and he'd get one and wear it. Once we went to the same Yule celebration wearing matching glittery purple shirts.
