I just made reservations for a restaurant. This is weird; I've never made reservations for anything before, so I was kind of nervous. It was pretty painless though. I'd say that I haven't been to any kind of moderately nice restaurant with my mate in a long time, but I think the truth is that we've never been to any moderately nice restaurants that I can recall. I'm kind of apprehensive as, on the whole, I'm not really big on fancy places; coney islands and chiniese buffets are much more our speed. I guess they're nice once in a while; it's just disturbingly close to being a grown-up for me, though I really feel more like I'm just pretending to be a grown up so I can play dress up for a few hours. That I can live with.

Afterward, I have to help my dad out with his computer, which reminds me that I have to email him now so he has my work address. I may not get to the carpet cleaning today. At least with the furnace having been going for a few days (turned it on for the first time this year on Tuesday since we actually had a frost), whatever allergens were sitting in the ducts have been mostly dissipated. I think I should replace the furnace filter though.

My laptop had an OS crash yesterday. Fortunately I was able to recover my Quicken data and all set stuff that I got from tybis last weekend, but I will have to rebuild my installation of Windows. If I'm not chatting this weekend, that may be why.

And I suppose that's all the news for the moment....
