Typical day at work. We're two thirds done with the production of Dwarven Dig figures, which means about 6000 each of the four dwarves, and 30000 little pieces of 'grit'. I've still never played the game. Oh well. The figures are cool. I'm just getting a little tired of seeing them. I got home about 10 o' clock tonight. Sounds like a long day, except that I didn't get there 'till about 1. My mom tells me she woke me up a couple of times, but I have no memory of it (which isn't unusual for me). I expected the Dwarf to pick me up in the morning, which would wake me up. Turns out he stayed at Kenzer over the night. He called about 12:30 looking for me. My mom came upstairs and woke me up. She didn't know I was at home. She thought I had gone to work. Hehe. Oh well. It worked out anyway. People are understanding about family emergencies.

I'm off to work again tomorrow. Dwarf and I will get there earlier, and I'm leaving about 4 so I can get to Chicago in time for the show. We went to Subway for lunch today. I had gotten my sandwhich and was waiting for the Dwarf who was at the counter when a woman returning from the bathroom brushed a hand across my back and said 'I miss pony-tails'. I was smiling for half an hour after that. ^_^

Of late, this journal seems to have become a venue for factual discussion of my day-to-day activites. That's all well and good, but it's kind of boring, and not my orginal intent for this journal. Hopefully I'll be better able to write about personal thoughts and ideas and other more interesting things once I'm done with these long days at Kenzer. Speaking of Kenzer, I created a new address on my server a while ago for use with correspondance with people at work. I was looking for something happy and bouncy sounding, 'cause that's how I was feeling at the time. I discarded a few like flyingdog or wingeddog as too overused and unwieldy. Finally I settled on rainbowpuppy. It occurred to me a while after setting everything up with my server that there is a certain connotation to the word 'rainbow'. I don't really care. I didn't have that in mind when I created the address, and I've never been one to change what I do because of what other people might think. That would feel like a betrayal of self. I doubt anyone at work would take offense to knowing that I'm bi anyway. Of course it's not something I go yakking about with everybody as it's really irrelevant to anything going on over there, but if anyone decides to read that into my choice of address I don't feel it's a big deal. It's not like I'm using, for instance, 'flamingqueer@stormdog.fdns.net' (let the spambots pick that one up *g*), and besides, I like rainbows. Largely because they accompany rain. I am enamored with rain and storms... But you might have guessed that.
