Fluff and Stuff
May. 30th, 2003 12:46 amThe fluff:
Andrea gave me pretties while she was here! *grin* I have a couple of toe rings and some neat glass-bead anklets that she actually made for me with her own hands. My raccoon is such a sweetie. I've wanted to try wearing toe rings since I started spending most of my time barefoot, and now I have a chance. And I really like them. It took me a while to figure out how to put them on and adjust them and get used to them, but they're very cool. The anklets are neat too. I think I just like things that draw attention to my feet and make people realize that, yes, that strange person over there really isn't wearing shoes. *giggle* If I keep getting more shinys, I may have to find a jewlery box.
The stuff:
Work is really busy and we are rather far behind on the miniatures production schedule. Some of this is due to the company next door going out of business and requiring us to take all the neat free shelving before it all gets hauled away to the scrapheap. I may be there late into the night Friday night making miniatures. Ugh. I was there 'till 7 tonight, when I left because I'd been feeling kind of lousy all day and had actually considered not going in to work. We are too far behind though... *shrug*
Anyway, so that's how I'm spending my Friday night. I'm still itching to get more time working on those Pentium II's I've got. I rifled the desks they came from and found a real HP CD with Win95 (and supposedly WinNT Workstaion though I can't find it), and got 95 running. I was going to upgrade to 98 from there since the clean install keeps failing (if it doens't work one way, try another), but my 98 disk is a full version and the 'puter is demanding an upgrade version. *sigh* I'll have to see if I can download an image of a 98 upgrade disc... Seems that will have to wait for another time though.
I also found a couple of nifty vintage (early 80's) electronic test instruments at Glenmarc (the place next door). I may e-bay them and see what they'll fetch. Speaking of E-bay, I finally posted my first auction tonight. It's a copy of the Call of Cthulhu 5th ed. mainbook that I got at a Goodwill for 2 bucks, along with a copy of Werewolf for the same price. The CoC book seems to average about $10 on e-bay, so we'll see how it goes. It would be nice if could make a little extra money indulging in my thrift store habit.
And my beloved is going to be at a memorial service for her father this weekend. She's not interested in making a big deal out of it, so please don't, but I just wanted to note it here because she's in my thoughts. *hugs* I love you, my Andrea.
