Jul. 27th, 2005 08:22 pmI just got one of these from work. They were giving it away because the demo team didn't want it anymore. It looke like it may have been damaged in shipping; the case is cracked and a small bit of the back of the case has fallen off. I plugged it in at work and the display was erratically breaking up. I found that the input jacks were loose and wiggled up and down. I opened up the case and found that the screws holding the circuit board with all the input jacks on it must have loosened in the banging-around that the unit was subjected to. I tightened them up and it works just fine now.
This thing was $4,699 new. I only found one on Ebay, and it went for over $200 with what may or may not be a bad fuse. I am trying to decide whether to keep it to play with or sell it. It would be so cool to have a projector like this to do something like
cjdoyle and
jenx do and call friends over for an outdoor pot-luck and show movies on the garage door...
