May. 14th, 2008 10:18 amSomeone in Poland who bought a 600 dollar tablet from me just opened a dispute indicating he didn't receive it, so my Paypal balance is now negative. I'm kind of pissed, and I shouldn't be, because he sent messages to our Paypal account but I assumed that Andrea was checking messages because I'd forgotten that I'd forwarded them to my email address. I have to try to find the customs form when I get home and figure out how to track the thing. I'm primarily mad at myself for having missed seeing the messages.
And when I went out to the car to look for the customs form, I locked my keys in it. *sighs* I knew it would happen sooner or later. It's just the way I am. I wish I'd gotten that extra key for my wallet made.
I used to be more centered. I'm starting to really dislike the changes that working helpdesk, and specifically help desk at this disorganized, hodge-podge excuse for a corporation, has on my psyche. I was talking a little bit about that to
megmoves yesterday evening. I always see people at their worst; when they are confronted with something they can't solve, or they're trying to wade through the maze of paperwork and approvals I lay in front of them. Once I get that certification in July, I need to look elsewhere for something that involves more hardware and less wetware. I don't want to get bitter and angry and I'm starting to feel that way too often here. It may be time to move on.
(This episode of angst brought to you in part by absurdly complex and draconian Sarbanes-Oxley related access policies for our network that I am charged with enforcing [not that it really matters that much considering we continue to be the only department that actually passes our SOX audits year after year and everything's going to get turned on it's ear anyway when ouracquisition merger goes through in a few months].)
But I'll wash my hands of that for now.
I had a really nice time going for a walk through Petrifying Springs last night with
megmoves and Kuma. The sky seemed at times on the verge of rain, and I felt a brief misting at one point, but umbrellas never became necessary and the hint of damp and the beautifully contrasted sunlight through the clouds made everything so beautiful. It was a really pleasant way to spend an evening, and wonderful company to do it in.
Kuma, poor thing, was quite worn out and I had to carry him up the stairs to go to bed last night. He got up a couple of steps and then just stopped. I'm getting worried about his legs. He's had a little arthritis for a few years, but it's been worse lately. We've started giving him some glucosamine supplements and I made sure to get the senior food for him with extra glucosamine too. Our puppy's going to be ten years old soon....
