Jun. 23rd, 2011 11:31 amAfter talking to my advisor, I've settled on swapping my Geoscience course for a Politics one. Either one will get me more credits than I strictly need in their respective gen ed categories, and politics sounds more interesting.
Only one of the five classes I'm enrolled in has a textbook listed, so I'm going to hold off on ordering the one I know the title of through Amazon. It looks as though it will be about $15 cheaper than through the campus bookstore.
That said, when I was in Kenosha yesterday, I checked out the bookstore just to see if they had any texts in and learned that they have a super discount section. I picked up a a nice hardcover copy of Knife of Dreams. I commented to the cashier, as I picked the book up, "Is this really a dollar?" She told me a lot of people ask that question, and yes it was. Someday, I will read all of those books, once they're finally all written and done.
------
I'm thinking lately about how much I'm going to miss Chicago and people and things therein after I move. I'm loosely planning to stay in Chicago until the end of July. I'll move back to Kenosha at the beginning of August and have a month or so to kind of get things in order and prepare for school in the beginning of September. I'm going to be doing a bunch of housework in lieu of rent, so I figure I'll take that month and do a thorough job of getting everything to the point where I can maintain the condition it's in with a little daily effort. I expect I'll also be working on building the room in the basement that I'm going to be occupying.
My bed is too tall to fit down there, so I need to think about options for that. I'll probably be looking to sell the bed I do have. It's a queen size loft by MC Woodworks (http://www.mcwoodworksinc.com/) and is of really high quality construction. I paid about $400 for it used and hope to get the same back for it as it's in the same condition. If you're interested, please let me know! I wish I could take it with me. I like it a lot!
