Thinking about school again

Today's going to be a getting-stuff-done-for-school day. First up, doing the citations on my independent study paper that the professor already gave me an A on. Then I need to practice my introduction speeches for SI. Then I need to think more about my presentation for November. I've been kind of slacking this weekend, and I need to get some things done so I'm not feeling anxious.

Here's yesterday's picture of the day from a game of Twilight Imperium with friends and family that took most of the day. It's an epic-scope sci-fi themed empire-building board game that's been compared to the Master of Orion computer game.

You know what makes me smile? The little yellow doggy who searches your files for you in Windows XP when you use the "Search Companion" function. He's cute.

That said, I didn't realize for a long time that he made an occasional noise. Once in a long while, when I left him open in the background behind other windows, there'd be an occasional unidentified noise (that I finally figured out the program was making) and I'd start hunting through all the programs and web-page tabs I had sprawling across my monitors, asking "What is making that noise? Where the hell is it coming from?"
