Ooh, not much time to post this week. Busy cleaning!

The bathroom sink and bathtub are looking practically operating theateresque after the attention I gave them yesterday. The whole living room/dining room area is looking very pretty and organized. The kitchen was looking fantastic last night and I bet that Moira has the rest of it done by now. I swear I'm going to keep it all that way this time. I'm really looking forward to cleaning up my computer room and bedroom again too, then starting on the library that I haven't touched, except to keep dumping more books into it, in months.

After work on Wednesday I met up with [livejournal.com profile] posicat and his newly grinding and crunching sound free minivan. The two of us drove together down to Fry's Electronics where I swapped my non SATA enabled hard drive enclosure for one that didn't have villainous untruths emblazoned on its packaging. After that, we visited a holy place. A mecca, to whose doors I intend to organize a pilgrimage during Windycon and/or Midwest Fur Fest; CiCi's. Think all you can eat pizza, including salad, bread sticks, a really pretty good alfredo sauce, brownies for dessert, and the ability to request custom pies. Oh, YUM! After that the four of us wandered about Best Buy until closing, and then Posi and I finally drove back north to his place, while Samii and her mate drive back westward.

I had so much fun sleeping over at Posi's place. It actually reminded a lot of when I used to drive down to Chicago and sleep over with [livejournal.com profile] daveqat and Jim. I like sleep overs. *giggles* I liked the shorter drive to work too. Posi got me up about 7:00, the time that I would normally have to leave, and I leisurely took my time getting up and showered before getting out the door at twenty to eight. Unbelievably, despite being just a few miles from work, it still took me half an hour to get there. I guess next time I won't take Allegheny. Thanks for letting me stay Posi!

I have my external hard drive up and running on my server. I realized that the onboard USB is of the 1.1 variety, so I'm going to shut the thing down and drop a 2.0 PCI card into it soon. Otherwise backing up all my data in preparation for a system rebuild is going to take a long time. I have a KVM switch (free from work!) to set up too; that alone will make things look a lot more organized. I love my hardware!

Speaking of hardware, I'll need more of it of the on-my-face variety. My glasses broke again on the way to work. I super-glued the lens back in place, but the angle isn't quite right and it gives me a headache after a while. [livejournal.com profile] serinthia and I drove down to the nearby mall where Lenscrafters could be found (that being an adventure in itself), but found that they were unwilling to create lenses based on my existing ones; I would have to have an exam. Since we were already going to have been gone for an hour at that point, I elected to pass on the proffered examination, since that would have bumped our time away from the office to two full hours. I'll have to find a place this weekend to get them done. That will give me a chance to figure out my optical insurance fully too, not to mention maybe even have extra opinions on frame selection from my mate and friends.

But what's most on my mind right now, on the subject of friends, is actually our visitors this weekend. We have [livejournal.com profile] samiitiger and [livejournal.com profile] tybis visiting up through Sunday. *bounce* Moira has this wonderful dill-havarti macaroni and cheese concoction that she's prepared for dinner tonight, and we'll probably settle in for games or movies and such afterward.

Not much else to say right now I suppose. Want to be home now, not stuck in traffic on route 21!
