stormdogI'm trying to remember what we did on Friday. I think it was largely concerned, along with early Saturday, with straightening up. The house is looking so much better! I'm going to do a little catch-up work this week, but I feel so good about things being mostly in order! I can't wait for the garage sale that's coming up too.

todd_riverden and serinthia showed up with a pot of 'stuff' (mac 'n cheese ground beef, and other things) to add to the crock pot-cooked pork, spiced potatoes, and other things that Andrea made. (She made something called a trifle too, but I don't concern myself with trifles.) CJ, who's LJ name I can't remember arrived along with posicat who assisted in getting a bright and cheerful fire going even in the middle of the rain. Our Rockford friends vurtsnake and sanjikhrys made it up with a stack of munchkin games that we actually never dug into, unfortunately. I would have liked to do more games, but I think (I hope?) things went fairly well anyway. Happily, polymorphism and gyades made it up from Illinois too! tybis and samii_tiger joined us from DeKalb as well, and I think the group was about the right size, though we may have a few more when we have our garage sale since it will be warmer and we can have more out of door activities. I may even set up my projector to show movies on the garage door!
We watched Haiku Tunnel which I think I've mentioned in this space before. We followed that up with some episodes of House, and then Posi and I went out to light up a fire with the aid ofwooisme's dad's propane torch. The whole group (minus Todd, Serin, and Samii who all had to leave early) stood around the fire and chatted until rain drove us into the garage and then inside.
It was so nice to have everyone's company and I'm already looking forward to the next time we can have some people over at our place. One of the highlights of the evening was sitting on the couch and providing scritches topolymorphism, who, I learned, is very cute when she's being scritched.
It was well on toward morning when Andrea and I finally got to bed. Tybis crashed at our place and the three of us drove down to hang out with Posi a while more on Sunday, which culminated in a run out to the Golden Corral and a stomach ache on my part. I was so full after that that I didn't eat a thing until dinner on Monday. I need a warning label. 'Attention: Exposing Stormdog to buffets can result in explosions!'
