Jun. 29th, 2007 06:06 pmIt would appear that, contrary to canid appearances, I have the metabolism of some sort of lizard. I frequently eat large amounts of food at a sitting and then am just not hungry for the next twelve to fourteen hours. Yesterday, I ate stupidly large amounts of pizza and breadsticks (both smeared with that white sauce they have). I haven't been hungry since. I think I'll actually have an appetite for dinner, but I quite contentedly skipped breakfast and lunch today entirely. That might be just as well since work was typically nuts.
The trip south was yesterday was a good time. Along with
posicat and
tybis, we met up with several people for dinner at the buffet:
polymorphism,
datahawk, and
linnaeus were all there too! It was fun to see them again; they're too far south and we don't get to much. I may have to go down and be social with during my upcomin vacation.
After dinner, our core three went over to FRy's where I poked a number of things. I was surprised to see a Canon EF 75-300 f4.5 zoom lens for about $200. That's a nice deal! Maybe I'll pick up something like that after I sell the Toshiba tablet I've got. I also went home with the universal power supply that Tybis picked up for me on sale at his campus.
We finally left Fry's about quarter after nine, and made it back to Posi's about ten thirty or so after a couple of detours made while trying to find a Chase ATM so I could pay Tybis for said power supply. We chatted there for a bit 'till I finally left at nearly quarter to midnight. I was home at twelve-thirty, talked for a little bit to
wooisme who I woke when climbing into bed, and got to sleep.
I've been too short on sleep lately. I slept right through my alarm. I was awoken by
serinthia coming upstairs to find me. Fortunately, even though we left fifteen minutes late, the traffic was light enough that we made it to work on time. I guess it shouldn't be surprising that lots of people are off work today.
On the way home, we're stopping at the auto parts place near my house to get a battery. Serin and Todd are going to take the Mercury off of our hands and it needs a new battery before it can be driven. And then we're going to take the Escort to the junkyard tomorrow morning, where we'll get about $200 for it. That's actually not so bad.
And then, we're meeting up at Posicat's place for a taste of Chicago run. I'm not a big fan of the taste after my trip there last year; the food wasn't so fantastic as to be worth what we were paying for it. However, as a chance to hang out with more friends (along with Posi, possible attendees are Andrea,
mocha_mephooki, and Tybis and a friend of his I don't think I know), I don't mind. Besides, it's always kind of fun to take the train down to the city, and I should be able to get lots of crowd photos. I hope the Budweiser Clydesdale's are back; I'd love to get some pictures of them too.
Tonight, I think, will involve laundry, Dance Dance, and possibly even a start at cleaning and organizing the library. Just another non-stop night in the life of Kenosha's resident party animal.
