wooisme,
magicpaw,
posicat,
tybis, and I took to the Taste of Chicago last weekend. (I really have to figure out how to put together decent web galleries.)

The crowd out front, and a police woman attempting to tame it.

A couple members of a percussion group that was playing outside the entrance. I was really pleased with the way this one came out; there's some fantastic detail on the full size image. I love the movement of the drumsticks and the perspiration glistening in the hot Chicago air.

A wind powered generator on display at the renewable energy booth. They also had worm composting bins and other interesting things.

Someone called the 'Hi Guy' was there. Never heard of him before and I haven't yet been inspired to look at his web site.

Some of the grounds crew, who get to ride those cool carts around.

Some of Chicago's finest enjoying the food. No, they were not eating doughnuts. I don't know quite why, but it's somehow really amusing to see the Taste of Chicago brochure sticking out of the back pocket of police uniform pants.

There was a small group of people involved in anti-war activities. I didn't grab any of their literature, but it was kind of interesting seeing all the stuff they had set up.

The obligatory Buckingham Fountain shot.

One of my companions pointed out a butterfly that had decided to rest just on top of a concrete wall by the sidewalk. I snapped a few pictures. This was probably the best of them.

I can has a curry fries?

The group of us.

From the trip home, an example of something that you really shouldn't be doing in a subway station.
