vandringar and ankhorite. Work's oddly quiet today, so I did this between calling in backlogged systems for HP to send a tech to repair.
Who was your first prom date?
I've never gone to a prom, or any school dance, that I wasn't forced to. There was a mandatory attendance dance somewhere back in the mists of time; I sat in the bleachers and read.
Do you still talk to your first love?
Well, since we live in the same house, it's kind of difficult to avoid it. I guess that's what happens when you're married to someone.
What was your first alcoholic drink?
Communion wine I suppose, depending on whether that counts. I've never really been interested in alchohol to tell the truth. Never liked the smell. Andrea gave me a tiny container of chocolore liquor (what she called an airplane bottle) while we were living in Michigan in the thought that I might like something chocolately. I drank all of it, which I suppose makes it my first drink in the sense of it being something I had more than a sip of. I'd noted that alcohol tastes like cough medicine to me, and she thought this might be different. I found that it tasted like chocolate cough medicine.
What was your first job?
Do you count paid house-sitting? If not, it would be overnight attendant at a homeless shelter.
First car?
'79 F100 that I bought for $100 from an ex-navy mechanic who worked on a destroyer. It had an engine from a Falcon, a transmission from a Mustang, and the shift linkage was something he'd custom welded. It was large, battered, and scary looking. when I pulled up behind people at red lights, they creeped ahead a few feet. Plus the engine compartment was big enough that I could sit inside on the wheel-well and work on the engine. I miss it.
Who was the first person to text you today?
I very rarely am on IM (haven't been today) and I even more seldom use text-messaging. So, no one.
Who is the first person you thought of this morning?
moiracoon when I walked into the computer room and saw her old computer, then mocha_mephooki, whose computer is in there next to it.
Who was your first grade teacher?
I have no idea. Sorry.
Where did you go on your first ride on an airplane?
Florida, for a vacation with my family to Disney World. That was many years ago. There's only been one trip since then, to Minnesota.
When you snuck out of your house for the first time, who was it with?
I've never really had to sneak out of my house. My parents would let me go if I had a reason to. Once I climbed out the window of my bedroom onto the roof outside, and then shimmied down a tree, but that was just to see if I could. I don't think I've ever sneaked out, to be honest.
Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them?
I think his name was Chris Burns or something like that. He lived across the street from us in Illinois. In retrospect, I'm not really sure what level of friendship we had; I wasn't good at relating to, or even necessarily being aware of as distinct individuals, other people my age when I was a child. I haven't talked to him since moving to Wisconsin when I was in elemantary school.
Where was your first sleep over?
Shoot; I can't remember. Might have been at Geoff Madison's house, who lived across the street from us in Kenosha. I used to be really excited about spending the night out of the house, but I can't remember where the first time I did it was.
Who was the first person you talked to this morning?
Andrea, when she made her usual morning phone call to me from work.
In person? Oleg here at work, regarding something he needs to have done on our Alpha platform server.
Whose wedding were you in the first time?
There seems to be a distinction to most people between being 'in' a wedding and being 'in attendance' at a wedding. I think that the first wedding I was in a participatory role in was my own. Does that count? Other than that, I've never been in what I've come to understand is referred to as 'the wedding party'. Funny; I always thought the wedding party is what happens at the reception.
What was the first thing you did this morning?
Shut down Mocha's computer, since the file transfer had completed over the course of the night. Then showered.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Some kind of contemporary Christian show at the Rosemont horizon. I really don't remember who it was. My mom asked if I was intersted in going, so I said sure. Much like the plane question, I've only been to one concert since, which was Jenny Lewis withposicat.
First tattoo and piercing?
I don't have any. I'd like to get my ears pierced, but it makes me a little nervous.
Who was your first kiss?
I always want to say that it was this girl who was in my high school theatre class. She kissed me on the forehead before I went on stage. It was the first time I'd been kissed, and it was a really neat, memorable thing, but I'm not sure if it's exactly what this question is getting at.
The first time I was kissed on the mouth was bydaveqat when we met up for dinner after my first Midwest Furfest.
When was your first detention?
I had so many; I don't really know. I really enjoyed them; I got away from the other children and could actually relax and enjoy working and reading.
What was the first state you lived in?
Illinois.

I have to admit, I'm not sure that I've ever had the experience.
