New Beginning

It's rather appropriate I think that I'm starting this LiveJournal off during such
a period of change for me. As I said in my blog over on my website (this journal is basically a coninuation of that record), I feel almost as though I've been reborn. There's a lot of change going on in my life at the moment, and for the better.
When I first started blogging, I think my intent was to try to reach out in some way and find someone to connect with. I was reading several other narratives of that sort and found a great deal of interest in reading about people's every day activities and troubles. People are more interesting than they think they are. Or maybe I'm just really boring. Either way... *g*
I found that I felt a certain connection with people I had got to know something of in this manner. I thought, perhaps not even quite consciously at first, that if I were to put my own life down in the ether for others to peruse, I might find someone who would connect to me in that same way.
Since that time, about four months ago, my life has changed more than it ever has. I've gained a group of new friends who have given me an amazing sense of purpose and happiness in my life. *hugs to DaveQat, Synicism, Lander, and everyone else* Though that isn't due directly to my keeping a journal, I've found that there are several reasons I'm doing it other than that. It's getting me to write regularly, It provides a wonderful tool for retrospection, it keeps me from forgetting what I did yesterday (don't laugh, I'm pretty bad), and finally, I find it a lot of fun.
Well, since this is my first entry, I suppose it's traditional to introduce myself. As my bio says, I'm 23 male, a furry, an avid reader, and a computer geek. I'm also, as I discovered a couple months ago when the matter first presented itself for serious consideration, bisexual. Does that surprise anyone I know? Honestly, it didn't really surprise me. Just sort of turned out that way. Other descriptive words applicable to me might include 'quiet', 'timid', and 'shy', though having friends has improved my self-confidence significantly. There are reasons why I am like that. They'll come up here in time, or you can go poke at my webpage and read about it if you're really interested.
Well, I suppose that's about it. More here (more or less) as it happens. This place will begin to look a little nicer as I figure out how all this works and set up house. 'Till then.
