Jan. 20th, 2009 04:17 pmI now have a really cheap Bluetooth headset for my cell phone. It seems to work, which, given the impaired functionality of my cell phone sans accessory, is a step up at a minimum.
While looking at an LJ friend of an LJ friend today, I found a community that brings me way back to when I first got the courage to actually delurk in an online forum, back on usenet (or rather, the furry incarnation thereof). I was never terribly active there, entirely due to crippling shyness, but I'm all excited to have found it and I put in a request to join. That place felt so much like home to me. In fact I think I can say that I've never felt more at home online than I did there. Which makes me sad that I did very little more than sit and watch from the sidelines. I wish I'd had the courage to walk up to the campfire and sit down and introduce myself instead of hiding in the woods. I'm trying to change that pattern in my life.
Which is part of why I'm so happy I got to spend yesterday evening with
awfulhorrid and
bookwurm. I ate a hugely tasty dinner and talked about geocaching, folly buildings, other random oddness. It was wonderful.
Tonight is working on
mocha_mephooki's hardware, and possibly some Rock Band. There's discussion of additional virtual instrument playing on Thursday with
posicat and
nova_wolf on Thursday; that would be fun!
