I finally have some time to write about my weekend tonight. It's good to have time. I feel like it's been ages since I sat down in front of my computer. I'm even out of practice on typing...

I left for Michigan after work Friday and arrived at the motel where [livejournal.com profile] wooisme was waiting for me about an hour later than I thought I would. Had a little bit of ugly traffic through Chicago, though it wasn't nearly as bad as when I came home. That was a huge mess, and my cellphone was out of power too. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The closer I got to Kalamazoo and my waiting raccoon, the more excited I got about seeing her again. I've honestly never felt quite like that before. She tells me that, when I had finally arrived and we laid down on the bed and just held each other for a while, I was shaking, and I'm sure I was. I had been so stressed and worried last week that seeing her again, having real and tangible assurance of her presence and love, was a completely indescribable feeling. She is magic.

We spent a really nice day at Silverleaf faire Saturday. Andrea outfitted me in some garb that she assembled for the occasion, and I really liked wearing it. Despite my having attended the Bristol faire for years with my parents, I'd never before attended in garb, and I like it. Andrea, of course, was beautiful in her wenchly attire. We got to Silverleaf a little before noon and proceeded to look around the grounds for a bit, 'till Andrea was called off for her part in drench-a-wench. People throw sponges soaked in ice water at the wenches in return for a kiss from those they manage to hit. There's a version for the rogues as well; soak-a-bloke. Apparently I impressed Andrea with my aim. When I worked up a little courage and walked up to take my turn, I squarely splashed my sweetie, her friend Devin who showed up during the course of these activities and joined in, and two others who I got with my last, random, throw. *giggle* That was kinda fun.

We spent the rest of the day walking around the faire and talking to the many friends and acquaintances of Andrea's who happened by. She's certainly a well-known personage around Silverleaf. I thusly got to meet many of her friends in the wenches and rogues guilds which was nice. There's been talk of me joining up with the rogues. That might be fun, but I'll have to think about it. I'm really not very good at improvisational street-theatre sorts of things, and I'm not sure I'd be suitably 'rogueish'. On the other hand, it might be kind of fun to get dressed up in garb and participate in something organized. *shrug* We'll see. Andrea also got my hair french-braided, which, from the glimpses of it I managed to get before I took it out that night, looked really neat. *hugs my raccoon*

In the evening, we went out for pizza with Devin at Bilbo's, a Tolkien themed restaurant. I ate pizza with tomato slices which is a first for me. I'm really getting better about these things. We spent a good long time eating and then sitting and talking about many and diverse subjects. We finally, upon noticing that the restaurant was being shut down around us, retired to Devin's hotel room and sat up talking 'till about one in the morning, at which time I have to admit I fell asleep. Though I tended to be pretty quiet through most of the conversation (which I feel a little bad about, but I'm getting better), I had a really good time. I look forward to so many more long lazy evenings spent with my beloved and her (and my, and our) friends, hanging out like that.

We were so very tired when we got up Sunday morning to pack up our belongings before checkout. This was partially due to our having been out so late, and partially due to our not having gone directly to sleep upon our return. 'Nuff said. Even so, we had another wonderful day at the faire. One of the highlights for me was taking a little rest break and sitting down on some wooden benches in a clearing. I was fussing with my hair that the wind was doing a wonderful job of tangling, when Andrea borrowed my hair brush and began brushing my hair. She gently worked the brush through and then she started singing to me. I wish I had words for how special that experience is to me. *happy sigh* Every day I simply love her more and more. And I miss her so...

Finally, after some time spent sitting and relaxing with some of the other guild members in their tent near the entrance, Andrea and I walked out to the parking lot, discreetly changed out of our garb, and once more parted ways. Only another two weeks 'till I can see her again. Only 10 days as of this writing, but it feels like so long. With Andrea in it, my life is complete as it never was before and it's the best thing I've ever felt. But now, knowing what, and who, the rest of my life will be, the time leading up to that moment feels like just a holding pattern. Yes, I'm going to miss my parents and my family and my friends when I move, but more than anything I just want to be with Andrea. I want every moment with her that I can possibly have.

Be safe and well my love, and the god/dess watch over you 'till next we're together.

And now, for those who got through my mush without their teeth rotting, *grin*; pictures!

My dear one is so beautiful in garb...
