I took a bunch of computers home with me from work thinking that I'd get them fixed up and put 'em on Craig's List. They keep getting older though, and they take up a lot of room in the garage and up in the computer room. Craig's List is kind of a pain to sell stuff like that through, especially in bulk. I may do it anyway, eventually.

But in the mean time, I have a number of older, Pentium IV computers around here. I don't have monitors or keyboards or stuff like that to go with them. Some have hard drives, some don't.

If anyone would like one and can pick it up, let me know. You're welcome to a few.

Time Capsule Marker

This concrete pedestal marks the location of two time capsules, one from the 1964-65 World's Fair and one earlier one from the World's Fair on the same site in 1939.

As the marker states, these capsules are intended to remain for 5000 years. There's speculation that New York City will be underwater due to global warming by then, but hey; it's worth a shot, right?

The '39 capsule was one of the first time capsules of the modern era, and was the first to be called by that name. The phrase originated at the '39 World's Fair.

I keep getting more and more fascinated by bygone World's Fairs as I read more about them. I hope very much I get the chance to attend one some day.
