Dec. 20th, 2011 12:59 amI was reading through my anthropology text book during the game. And I'm going to keep reading through my notes for a little bit right now. But I just did calculations based on all my completed work and the syllabus and I think I can get around a 60 on the final and keep a 92% in the course. While this course doesn't spell it out, the ones that do state that a 92% is an A. So I think I'm going to relax and get to sleep pretty soon.
I had a wonderful time playing Civilization with my brother and his friends today, even though I had to stop for an hour and a half or so in the middle to run out to my Spanish final. I'm pretty sure all of them have gone pretty well so far, though I'm not counting chickens before they're hatched. It seems like bad luck.
My last final of the term, the aforementioned anthropology one, is tomorrow at 8 o' clock. After that, I think I'm going to give my grandparents a call and go visit them. I won't be there for Christmas Day, so I want to make sure I see them before I head off to Canada with my beloved.
It'll be a bit weird not being with the whole extended family for Christmas. I have been every year since I was little. But Danae and I will be eating breakfast with my parents and brothers together that morning, which is a very important tradition to my Dad and I. That makes me happy.
I've received a few of the books for my next semester of school in the mail and I'm really excited about them! Looking at the art history book was fantastic! The first picture in it is a portrait of a wealthy Boston couple a few years prior to the revolutionary war. The text talks about the political background of the work and why they're dressed the way they are and what it means and all the other cultural influences on it. And I read through it and, having just covered that in my history class this term, was just nodding along and saying "Ok, that makes complete sense." It's been just so amazing how all these classes I've been taking, even ones that I wouldn't have expected to, all tie together! There's really something to be said for a liberal arts education combined with knowing what you want to do and picking classes that really work for and appeal to you. School is just making me *so* happy!
Ok, I need to get to bed soon. G'night!
