Well, back to blogging as usual.
The play went fairly well again tonight. My grandparents were up from Ringwood (in Illinois) for the performance and the family all went out for food at Applebee's. Food was ok, it was nice to see my grandparents again. I don't see them often. They are interesting people. My grandfather is retired from horseshoeing, which he did for a long time and was very good at. I've seen him knock horseshoes out on his anvil like nothing. He was president of the American Farrier's Association for a time. Now he's doing video editing for fun. He's pretty cool. I'm envious of his computer set up, even if he does prefer *yechhh* macs. (I could never use one of those one button mice. I feel as though I've had an arm amputated.) He's takes care of the domain of the Equine Education Institute over at equus.com.
Once again tonight, someone laughed briefly as I smothered McMurphy at the end of the play. Makes me wonder how people are interpreting that. Why do they think it's funny? I don't really know. I've heard conjecture to the effect of 'it's nervous laughter'. Does that mean they're laughing because they just don't know how to react? I'm not sure that makes sense to me. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I don't think I am.
We've had the biggest audiences I've seen at the Rhode for a long time. If things keep up this way next weekend, our total attendance will be up over 1000. Haven't done that in a long time. It's really nice to see the the theatre doing well. Yeah, it working there stresses me out, but I love the theatre.
Afterwards, took Lara home, and now I'm catching up on e-mail, writing this and chatting with two people, all at the same time. I feel so geeky. *g*
