Some Toronto Photos
Sep. 3rd, 2013 03:12 pmA few Toronto pictures

The CN Tower makes everything else in Toronto look pretty small by comparison. And it's really not. The CN Tower is just that big.
I'm really tempted to do the Edgewalk there some day. They tether you to a rail and you can walk around the outside of the roof. But it's expensive, and you can't bring a camera. I understand why, but that would defeat most of the purpose for me.

On the way to the distillery district, Danaeris Annwfn's parents drove by the industrial harborfront for me to take some photographs. This photo reminds me a little bit of one I shot in Detroit of the Renaissance Center seen through the collapsing roof of an abandoned warehouse. I like to juxtapose rather different kinds of architecture and aspects of the built environment.
-----

The smokestack dominating the skyline here is from the now-decommissioned Hearn Generating Station, one of the largest power plants in the world. I drove by the plant last time I was in Toronto, hoping to find a way in, but there's a manned guard post at the entrance.
-----

Concrete silos at the waterfront. I like the shapes and lighting in this photo.
-----

More industrial silos. I like machinery that seems to grow organically out of the edifice that it's part of and attached to.
-----

Like so many abandoned or disused industrial spaces in this post-industrial society, this one is likely to be destroyed to make way for condo developments.
The next Toronto photos I post will be from my trip to the distillery district!
