I typically let my car sit for four or five days at a time since I do so much biking. It had had no problems starting after the vicious cold snap earlier. Today, when I took off work so I could get to Chicago to see Lisa, who was admitted to the ER early this morning, it, of course, will not start.
I'm not used to what's under the hood of this car, or to newer cars (because to me, '99 is newer) where you can't actually get to the battery. I broke a bolt trying to get parts off. (I don't think it's anything critical, fortunately.) I tried to figure out how the designers could possibly make it so hard to get to the battery, then remembered that some cars have a terminal elsewhere.
It's really cold out to try to be doing anything with a car. But it's not real car work until you're pissed off and directing profanity-laced commentary at the vehicle.
I found the terminal, then got the charger, that someone (possibly even me I guess, though I don't think so) put back in the wrong place. It's out there charging now, and I'll try starting it again once it's closer to full.
