stormdogOne more photo from Lincoln, Illinois before moving, once again, homeward: this phone booth sits atop the city hall. The reason for its position seems to be a matter of some local conjecture and legend. I bet that would be a lot of fun to research!
This is enough of an oddity to have it's own entry on the Roadside America website, and it was one of the things I was planning to photograph while in town. I was pretty pleased to be able to shoot it from this angle while I was on top of the courthouse!
